Best retail therapy on the Gold Coast

If you’re keen to shop up a storm on your Gold Coast holiday, we’ve curated a list of the best stores, markets and luxury destinations for your retail fix.

You’re welcome!

For boutique shopping

James Street strip

With its village-like vibe and slew of independent boutiques, Burleigh’s James Street, just across the road from the beach, is a must.

For sunglasses and specs by Gold Coast brand-turned-global success story Valley Eyewear, and labels like Zulu & Zephyr, Assembly, Neuw denim and Rolla’s Jeans, head to Sean Scott.

For Kivari, Spell, Amuse, Arnhem and St Agni Studio, The Freedom State is a beautiful, whimsical boutique to add to your hit list.

For earth-conscious skin care, gifts, plants and books like the popular The Moonflower Monologues by local author and creative Tess Guinery, swing by Cedar and Stone, while Maison & Maison is the go-to for globally sourced homewares.

For emerging brands

The Village Markets

This award-winning boutique designer market has been providing a platform for local fashion, swimwear, homewares, jewellery and ceramics labels and artists to showcase their designs for the past 11 years.

Held on the first and third Sunday of each month, TVM has been the launchpad for international brands such as Kivari, Cleopatra’s Bling, Peony, Children of the Tribe and Zulu & Zephyr.

With live tunes by talented local musos – Tones and I and Ziggy Alberts have played TVM before their meteoric rise – and food trucks, TVM is not only a great place to purchase some goodies but also to kick back on a blanket and soak up the good vibes.

For a designer fix
